Johnathan is Namgis First Nations from Alert Bay.  His Grandfather Gideon Whonnock came from Fort Rupert and his Grandmother was Edith Nelson from Quatsino.  Johnathan has worked as an alcohol and drug counsellor for over 31 years.  He has a lot of experience as a trauma counsellor.  He worked for many organizations including the Indian Residential School Society, Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society and Toronto Native Council Fire Cultural Center.
