Born from a collaboration between Bastien’s Wendat craftsmanship and MINI TIPI's Anishinaabe creativity, the Thunderbird embodies strength and consideration, carrying values shared by both companies: authenticity, respect for traditions, and the desire to create a meaningful product.

Crafted from supple cowhide leather and adorned with a band of fabric made from a blend of recycled wools featuring MINI TIPI’s Thunderbird pattern, this boot pays tribute to one of the most powerful spiritual beings of the Anishinaabe: the Thunder Bird.

Each pair is hand-laced and fitted with a rubber sole molded in Canada, combining comfort, durability, and authenticity. More than a moccasin, it is a meaningful piece that celebrates the meeting of two nations.

  • Three-season boot
  • 100% Canadian cowhide leather
  • Rubber sole
  • Hand-laced
  • Felt insert under the sole for maximum comfort
  • Blend of recycled wools

Each moccasin is adorned with the beautiful Thunderbird design on the vamp, a symbol of authenticity and Indigenous expertise. Its unique side panels make every pair truly one of a kind.

We recommend choosing one size down from your usual fit. For example, if you normally wear a US size 8, select a size 7.

The Anishinaabe people believe the thunderbird to be one of the highest spiritual beings. It protects us from the serpents that live deep within the ground and ensures life for all living things.

The thunderbird is part of our natural law that teaches us that all living things must be treated with respect and integrity so that we can all survive.
This sacred bird comes here in the spring from the west bringing thunderstorms and rain. Then they do the same in the fall before returning west before winter.
