Aanzinaago’

Aanzinaago’

SHOW OPENING NIGHT Sept 12th from 7pm-9pm

at the Aunty Collective Creative Practice Gallery

Show runs from Sept 12th - Oct 17th

Aanzinaago’ is an Anishnaabemowin word meaning- change appearance, transform.  Aanzinaago’ honours the physical changes that occur when animal relatives through Indigenous traditional practices are transformed into creations that hold our ways of knowing and being- Indigenous law. As our worlds go through continual intense physical and spiritual shifting, the changes that occur within Indigenous makers in relationship with the animals, plants, community and ourselves, remind us to be in reciprocal relationship with the elders, knowledge keepers, and more than human relations who protect and share our laws and practices.
