Jaada Sk’iila is of the Yaahl Naas, and is of the Yahgulaanaas (Raven) Clan of Old Massett, Haida Gwaii. Her English name is Gina Mae Schubert, she is a proud single mother of two children. She is an inventor, and a contemporary Haida artist and industrial/interior designer and she was born in the rainforest of the Pacific
Northwest and raised between Prince Rupert, BC, and Haida Gwaii. She is a descendant of Haida Artist and shipbuilder Capitan Andrew Brown from Old Massett, Haida Gwaii, BC and is also a descendant of Catherine O’Hare Schubert of the Overlanders. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and an associate degree from The New York School of Interior Design. She is recognized for her paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and another part of her artistic standing comes from many interior design projects in Canada, New York, Central America, and California, which all are embodied by her passion for the earth, all sentient beings and her Haida Culture. She is a knowledge keeper of the design of the Haida Big House, and involved in several projects underway in Haida Gwaii. Her core passion, and mission, is to elevate the divine feminine in all that she creates and she is an activist for the protection of Children, Mother Earth, all sentient beings and the rights of the Autochthonous people. She is the founder and facilitator of Manifesto of Matriarchs (www.manifesto-of-matriarchs.com) and is an advocate of raising the voices of the Autochthonous Women of the
Earth and believes in restoring the governance and stewardship of Turtle Island to the Hereditary Matriarchs and the divine Masculine Hereditary leaders, which she believes will lead to balance and healing of the whole world.
“We cannot be separate, energetically or biologically, from the Earth, our fellow man, and all sentient beings – we are all ONE.”- Gina Mae Schubert
