Motherly love honours the deep connection between a child and those we call Mother- by bled by choice or by spirit. At the center, a baby rest in a traditional cradle board, a practice pass down through generations keeping our babies close until they are ready to take their first steps forward. A mother figure holds the baby wrapped in a blanket marked with an eagle symbolizing protection strength and steady watchfulness. Cedar branches rise behind them representing our ancestors in their ongoing role and caring for our children reminding us that love, responsibility and guidance are carried across generations and that our children are always held by many hands.

The Aunty Collective Indigenous Creative Practice Hub recognizes the sovereignty of the Lekwungen Peoples, land, waters, ancestors, and non-human relations and understands that only through meaningful, respectful, reciprocal relationships, is our work made possible. As diverse Indigenous peoples who carry our unique Indigenous laws with us while away from our own lands and waters, we make visible and honour Lekwungen laws, protocols, and authority as we create, share, and develop relationships within the Lekwungen and neighboring Coast Salish territories and peoples.
