Medicine Shield "O nonhkwashon:a" (O noon qua soo ah)
"I am Mohawk, Bear Clan - Traditionally the medicine people of our society. In creating this shield, I work to instill a positive energy of goodness and well-being to body, mind & spirit. This is my medicine, my thoughts & my good energy I wish to share. The circle stands for unity and the never-ending cycles of life. My designs carry with them the acknowledgement of the 4 directions, the 4 faces of man - Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, Physical and the 4 elements - air, earth, fire and water. It is my desire for you to take the time to experience the strength and beauty in nature, and to see the creativity of my people & culture in my original designs. Nya:wen" - Rebecca Maracle

The Aunty Collective Indigenous Creative Practice Hub recognizes the sovereignty of the Lekwungen Peoples, land, waters, ancestors, and non-human relations and understands that only through meaningful, respectful, reciprocal relationships, is our work made possible. As diverse Indigenous peoples who carry our unique Indigenous laws with us while away from our own lands and waters, we make visible and honour Lekwungen laws, protocols, and authority as we create, share, and develop relationships within the Lekwungen and neighboring Coast Salish territories and peoples.
