Helen Pelletier has worked with birch bark for over 20 years, learning from elders, mentors, and community members. Her work, which includes winter birch bark etchings and contemporary designs such as backpacks, hats, and skirts, reflects both tradition and innovation. She frequently incorporates home-tanned hides and natural materials sourced from her community, imbuing her creations with layers of meaning and cultural significance.

Workshop 1: Etched Winter Birch Bark Earrings

-Tuesday February 25  5:30 – 8:30 pm
-Approximately 3 hours 

This workshop includes:
-Four hours of instruction, discussion and sharing of Ojibway creative practice with birch bark.
-Each participant will learn and leave with a pair of etched birch bark earrings
-Coffee, tea
-Private, intimate setting in an Indigenous space
