Visiting Huckleberry 'kyokêw mistahiýinimina' Tea Cozy (2022)

This two sided tea cozy was created in 2022 for a cousin's first born, named Huckleberry. It just so happens, my favourite berry to hunt and harvest is the mountain Huckleberry. I am telling the story, through beads, of my relationship to the Dakelh land I grew up on where the elusive mountain huckleberries abound. I chose plants that are in season when the huckleberry bush is in bloom, as well as when the berries are ripe. I included some traditional Michif florals and elements too.
